What I can do for you

Before any photographs are taken we will get together to chat about the style and mood of the shots.
You'll be able to tell me more about your child. Every family is unique- and that’s what the photograph should capture. We will discuss whether the photographic session will be held in the studio using studio lights, which is obviously a more controlled setting or natural light in my garden room, which has the most wonderful soft north-facing light. Perhaps a more informal approach is what you want, so we can go to a favourite park and capture the “real person” in a more natural setting. Obviously shots taken outside are a little more unpredictable, with weather and backgrounds and lighting. The important thing is the end result; a photograph that captures the moment for you and your children.

The photographer Bill Brandt once said “a good portrait ought to tell something of the subject’s past and suggest his future”. I too hope that in years to come, you and your child will be able to look at their photograph with fond memories.
